Without a doubt, xkcd is the smartest, funniest web comic in existence. If you don't agree, it's simply because you lack the knowledge base to appreciate it. (Note, that doesn't mean you're dumb, just that you didn't learn enough about the world.)
Christmas Plans explains why you can't observe Christmas if you want to preserve it. But probably not in the way you're thinking.
